Lauren Jolly Assistant Pastor of Lay Ministries
Lauren is the Assistant Pastor of Lay Ministries at FUMC. She has a passion for our Heavenly Father and assisting others in spiritural growth. Lauren is committed to growing the Kingdom of God by discipling others to develop a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. She studied Music Therapy at Appalachian State, and has previously worked as a Music Therapist at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Lauren’s husband’s name is Jeshua, and they have a little girl named Skyler and a little boy named Gabriel! Lauren is looking forward to continuing to grow in faith with the families of FUMC North Wilkesboro.

Our Church Staff
Dr. Roberts has a B.A. from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, a MDiv. from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC and a DMin. from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH. Dr. Roberts has been a pastor in the Western North Carolina Conference since 1996 and has served in rural and suburban, small and large, and traditional and contemporary churches. Dr. Roberts has been married for 29 years to Karen Roberts who is currently serving as pastor of the Wilkesboro UMC. They have two daughters. Katie is married to Kevin Allen and is mother of Kennedy, who is 6 months old. The Allens live in Winston Salem. Their second daughter is Emily who lives in Asheville. Dr. Roberts states that he is excited about our journey together and is praying for us and our entire community. He is confident that God will be glorified in our mutual love and service to Christ and His Church.
Sylvia was born and raised in Mooresville, NC where her first career was in banking for ten years at Piedmont Bank and Trust. After receiving the call to ministry in 1980, she attended Asbury College and Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She served churches in Newton, Statesville, Boone, Winston-Salem, Asheboro, Shelby and also served as District Superintendent of the former Lexington District. Upon retiring in 2016, she moved to Winston-Salem where she currently resides. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and baking.
