Dr. Roberts has a B.A. from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, a MDiv. from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC and a DMin. from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH. Dr. Roberts has been a pastor in the Western North Carolina Conference since 1996 and has served in rural and suburban, small and large, and traditional and contemporary churches. Dr. Roberts has been married for 29 years to Karen Roberts who is currently serving as pastor of the Wilkesboro UMC. They have two daughters. Katie is married to Kevin Allen and is mother of Kennedy, who is about 2 years old. The Allens live in Winston Salem. Their second daughter is Emily who lives in Asheville. Dr. Roberts states that he is excited about our journey together and is praying for us and our entire community. He is confident that God will be glorified in our mutual love and service to Christ and His Church.

Lauren is the Assistant Pastor of Children's Ministries at FUMC. She has a passion for our Heavenly Father and assisting others in spiritural growth. Lauren is committed to growing the Kingdom of God by discipling others to develop a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. She studied Music Therapy at Appalachian State, and has previously worked as a Music Therapist at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Lauren’s husband’s name is Jeshua, and they have a little girl named Skyler and a little boy named Gabriel! Lauren is looking forward to continuing to grow in faith with the families of FUMC North Wilkesboro.

Laura grew up in North Wilkesboro and her youth group played a major part in her faith journey. After graduating from Wilkes Central High School she earned a B.A. in Mathematics and a Minor in Psychology from Elon University in 2006. She earned her M.A in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University in 2014. She has taught math at Wilkes Central High School since 2006 and is North Carolina’s Northwest Region Teacher of the Year for 2019. She loves working with youth not only in the classroom daily, but during UMYF every Sunday evening. She hopes our youth will not only grow closer to God and each other through youth fellowship, but also be ambassadors for Christ through mission and worship opportunities.
